Slept one night at Lu's. Not a good time for her and company so i headed on.
Lu fading a smile for me! We go way back to the Nebraska days. She's from there too.
The cottonwood trees around the trees and rivers are HUUUUGE!
Finally on I-40 i got a pic of the New Mexico sign as i was leaving!
The Arizona border is also the border for the Navajo nation. As soon as you get there lots of colorful shops emerge.
Onward to Petrified Forest National Park. I drove right through it once and deemed it not worthy because i couldn't see anything from the interstate. Check out the following photos and see how wrong i was!

This is on the south entrance/exit of the park.
Humphrey's Peak (highest in Arizona) as i head toward Flagstaff.
