October 23, 2011 - Benefit Cruise on San Francisco Bay

Ayme takes the boat out periodically and we travel all over the Bay. Today was a fundraising event for our friend Jupiter. She does work in Haiti setting people up with composting toilets. We auctioned off some tickets and took (mostly friends) who were willing to part with their cash on a most excellent trip!

Jupie's organization is ( http://www.oursoil.org )

Going down the estuary where we dock, we now see the northern tip of the island of Alameda with San Francisco city skyline behind it.

Captain Ayme Kantz reporting for duty!

It has been interesting watching the new bridge go up. For the record only the east span is being replaced (meaning the bridge from Yerba Buena Island to the East Bay)

The Brothers. They are islands off the coast of Richmond, CA. The above has an overpriced bed and breakfast. The bottom is simply a depositing site for bird guano.

The Marin Islands are closer to San Rafael, CA. They are a National Wildlife Refuge and one is prohibited from going on them. We have learned to stay away from them as well. They surrounding waters are very shallow and we ran aground and damaged the propellers one time.
