January 29, 2012 - Jumpee at Tonia and Kevin's in Sonoma, CA

I had a job moving some things to Fairfield, CA and i have been wanting to visit my friends Tonia and Kevin in Sonoma, CA for months but it is a ways from Oakland. I took this opportunity to swing by and it was my lucky day! They rented a jumpee for Blake's birthday. I want one!

Yay! Jumpee! All us kids had fun with this one.

Sugar is their cat. She is as sweet as her name suggests! She loved to jump on you and have purr sessions. I housesat a couple years back and got to know her :)

January 3, 2012 - Rachael Meyers and family visit from London, UK

Rachael and i were both friends with Mike Lowey and have kept in touch since the 90s. She works for the State Department and has been all over the world. Right now she is in London, England. I was surprised when she called up one day and suggested we get together. This was the first time i met her husband Richard and her new baby Edgar.

We met at the Pyramid Brewery for lunch in Berkeley, CA.

She is from here so back visiting the family.

They suggested we take a stroll at the park by the Berkeley Marina. After years of driving past it i had actually never been out here. I learned they have a rare migrating burrowing owl that is protected here.

The ground squirrels are abundant.

We did meet one more time before they left.
