June 8, 2011 - Walking Around Site of Expo '86 in Vancouver, BC

After the museum i decided to check out Science World. The building was built for the 1986 Expo World's Fair. All the photos below were part of the area that was developed for Expo 86. The building is located at the end of False Creek. Unfortunately it was under construction so there was lots of unsightly matter. I didn't go in because it was too expensive and not all of it was open.

Read more about the Science Museum.

Check out this incredible photo.

Go to the Science World website.

Views of the downtown from the Science World area.

Two skyscrapers across the street from Science World. I was impressed how clean and shiny the buildings are in the whole city.

I have no idea what these guys are or why somebody made them, but i thought they were clever stump art.

I think this was some tribute to the First Nations of the area.

And then i turned a corner and lo and behold giant birds!

No idea what they were but had to get a few photos.

The city sports arena.

It was actually hot this particular day, so after a short walk the sites got less interesting and i headed back so i could do the downtown walk.
