On the road again. Time to leave Las Cruces and head towards Albuquerque to visit another friend Luanne Templeton. I hadn't seen her since 1994 when i drove through here last and once again thanks to Facebook i found her after losing touch.
Last view of the Organ Mountains. I then met Lu in Soccorro, NM for lunch. She had to work more so i checked out the....
It was the worst time to visit the refuge. It was very hot at the heat of the day and also the dry season. But i still enjoyed it, saw a few forms of wildlife and got to appreciate the magnitude of the work involved in creating a manmade wildlife refuge.
I then met Lu at her house near Belen, NM. She already had plans to practice in her bluegrass band. They had to play soon so she couldn't cancel, but did drag me along. It was quite fun and i got to sit in and strum on guitar :)
